It is my great pleasure to welcome you to our parish family. We are an energetic community of disciples ministering in the mission field that is Baton Rouge, LA.
As rector, I am committed to teaching and preaching the faith once delivered to the saints, in a way that makes the Gospel applicable to the world today. In addition, I am committed to providing an environment at St. Margaret's where people of all ages and backgrounds can come and get to know Jesus Christ more fully. For that reason, Christian Education and Christian Fellowship are two big focuses for us.
On Sunday mornings, you will find that the worship at St. Margaret's is centered around the Holy Eucharist, also known in other traditions as Holy Communion, or the Mass. In addition, we have a Sunday Christian education hour (starting at 9 a.m.) that is focused on study of the Scripture lessons that are read during Sunday worship.
Again, I welcome you to St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, and it is my sincere hope, prayer, and desire that you will find a home - a place to grow - here in our midst.
Blessings in Christ,
Fr. Townsend Waddill, Rector
