In the interest of transparency, I would like to take a moment to explain how the finances of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church are reviewed and managed.

Our Finance Committee meets each month on the Tuesday before the Vestry meeting. The committee includes Kathy Foster, Past Treasurer; Ronny Daley, Junior Warden; Mona Seville, Bookkeeper; Tommy Dillon, Rector; Sandra Shipp, Parish Administrator; and me, as Treasurer.

During these meetings, we review the church’s financial statements in detail. This gives us an opportunity to discuss unexpected expenses, upcoming needs, and any accounts that may be over or under budget. This careful monthly review is an important part of maintaining the financial health of St. Margaret’s and allows us to address concerns before they become larger issues.

The Finance Committee met on July 7, 2026, to review the June financial statements. I am pleased to report that St. Margaret’s has received 97.5% of its budgeted revenue while spending only 92.42% of its budgeted expenses.

Through June, the budget projected a net loss of $8,203.33. Instead, our actual net income is $2,074.51. Although revenue is slightly below budget, we are currently outperforming the budget overall because expenses have remained well controlled.

I believe St. Margaret’s is in good financial shape, and I am hopeful that we will outperform the budget for the year.
