St. Margaret's is committed to utilizing the newest technology to make giving to our church as easy as possible. Three new ways to give are through the Tithe.ly app, through the Tap discs in the sanctuary, and through Text-to-Give.

Tithe.ly App

  1. Download the app. Search for "Tithe.ly" in the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android) and install the free Tithe.ly Giving app.
  2. Sign in or create an account. Open the app and enter your phone number or email — you'll receive a code to log in. It only takes a minute, and your account lets you view your giving history later.
  3. Find our church. Use the search to look up our church by name (St. Margaret's Episcopal Church), then select Give or Give Now to get started. Once you've selected us, the app remembers your home church for next time.
  4. Fill out the giving form. Enter your amount, choose a fund, and add your payment method. You can also set up recurring giving here so your tithe happens automatically each week or month. If you'd like to give to more than one fund, you'll make a separate gift for each.
  5. Press Give. You'll see a confirmation screen when your gift has been processed — and after that, your saved details make future giving even faster. After your first donation, a QuickGive button appears that lets you repeat the same gift in just two taps.

Tithe.ly Tap

  1. Wake up your phone and unlock it. No app or account is needed — just your phone.
  2. Hold your phone against the tap disc. On iPhones, the tap sensor is near the top edge of the phone; on most Android phones, it's the middle of the back. Hold it there for a second or two.
  3. Tap the notification that appears on your screen. It will open our online giving page in your web browser.
  4. Enter your gift. Choose your amount and fund, enter your payment information, and press Give. You can also set up recurring giving from the same page.
  5. That's it! You'll receive a confirmation, and your gift will appear on your year-end giving statement.

Trouble tapping? Android users may need to turn on NFC in Settings.

Give by Text

  1. Save our giving number. Text gifts go to our church's dedicated text-giving number: (225) 425-3335. Add it to your contacts as "St. Margaret's Giving" so it's always handy.
  2. Text an amount. Simply text any dollar amount — for example, "50" — to the number. The first time you give, you'll receive a quick setup link to enter your payment details. Tap that link, add your card, and you're set.
  3. After that, it's one text. Once your account is created, you can simply text a number amount (for example, 50) to the giving number and your gift will be made. No app, no login — just your phone's regular text messaging.
  4. Want to give to a specific fund? Add the fund name after the amount — for example, "50 Missions" — to designate your gift.
  5. You'll get instant confirmation. Every donation triggers a receipt by text and email, and your gifts appear on your year-end statement. Made a mistake? Text "refund" right after your gift to reverse it.

One important note: the setup link you receive is personal to you — please don't forward it to family or friends. If someone else uses your link, their donations will be linked to your account and appear on your giving statements. Instead, have them text the number themselves to get their own link.
