Danielle serves as Senior Warden and is also the founder and leader of La Mesa, St. Margaret’s outreach and community ministry focused on hospitality, belonging, and accompaniment.
Raised in an evangelical non-denominational tradition, Danielle spent years in missionary work and ministry leadership before experiencing profound burnout and spiritual disillusionment. Questions surrounding women in ministry, racial justice, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and the treatment of marginalized people led her into a season of spiritual homelessness.
In 2020, she searched online for an LGBTQ+ affirming church in Baton Rouge and found St. Margaret’s. She was confirmed in 2022 and describes the parish as a place where she found healing, belonging, and a renewed understanding of God’s expansive welcome.
Danielle holds a PhD in Sociology and brings deep experience in community building, leadership development, justice work, and organizational reflection. Her leadership style centers on creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and invited to the table.
She is passionate about helping St. Margaret’s continue becoming a place of spiritual home-making for all people.
